Jesus and Satan get into an argument over who is the better programmer, so God decides to settle it with a coding contest.
They’re given two hours to implement the same specification.
Both of them get to work.
Satan is flying — clean architecture, efficient algorithms, good test coverage. Jesus is keeping pace. They’re both compiling, debugging, optimizing, and checking edge cases right up to the deadline.
With thirty seconds left, the power fails.
The room goes dark.
A moment later, the power comes back on.
Satan reboots his machine, stares at the screen, and shouts, “No! I lost everything!”
Jesus calmly restarts his computer and submits his program.
Satan turns to God and says, “How is that fair? We were doing equally well!”
God says:
“Jesus saves.”
