Stress Journal

I read the second chapter of The Relaxation and Stress Reduction Workbook and it said to keep a stress journal. Every time I get stressed or anxious I should record what happened and then I can look for patterns. I like this idea and it makes sense. I guess I have done this in the past but only when I felt like I needed to journal to get some thoughts out and not every time I felt anxiety. I do go back and read my journals sometimes, but It’s weird that I have never used my diaries as a systemic data source before.

Actually, I do know why. I have been waiting for the perfect tool to analyze the data. I actually have kept detailed records of many things but I’ve got this dream of creating my own journalling and data analysis app so I never actually review my data because I am planning to do it in my own app one day? Why I am doing that? I should start analyzing my data “by hand” instead of waiting for the ultimate solution. I think this is one of my cognitive distortions. It sounds like all-or-nothing thinking.
